25th September 2014
Dear friends and followers,
Well I am very excited to say that this coming month I will be having an exhibition of my black and white photographs in Paris!
I will be showing a series of Mediterranean photographs – and in particular of the island of Panarea – in a joint exhibition with my great friend Behi Shamiri at the Galerie Arnaud Bard at 92 Avenue J. B. Clément, Boulogne, Paris 92100.
Almost all of the photographs that I will be showing were originally shot on film, and many have never been seen before. They all portray the dynamic chiaroscuro of the dazzling Sicilian light and the deep shadows, delineating and offsetting the whitewashed geometrical architectural features.
Behi Shamiri will also be showing a series of his wonderfully rich paintings of Panarea. I have known Behi for almost 30 years, and he is an artist whom I greatly admire. We often meet in Panarea, an island which he regularly visits and which he, like I do, find to be an inspiring place to work.
We often work together whilst in Panarea, and in fact I will be exhibiting a couple of photographs of him in scenes that we set up together with female models.
This exhibition will be open to the public from the 2nd until the 31st October 2014.
I’d be delighted to see you there!
