Bakong Temple
Dating to the late 9th century, Bakong was the State Temple of Indravarman I. It was the first significant temple-mountain; the five tiers of the pyramid symbolized Mount Meru and the temple was dedicated to Shiva. It also included two moats, the largest one measuring 900 x 700m.
