Images of Panarea

Panarea is the smallest but most beautiful of the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago of volcanic islets situated just off the north eastern tip of Sicily. Adam Butler has been going to Panarea all his life (his father bought a house there in the 1950s) and has been extensively photographing the island since the 1980s. A book of his photographs was published in 1998 by Iditella Press (see here for more details) but every year he continues to allow his eye to wander - with camera in hand - across the natural and (ever-changing) built environment of Panarea, and thus adding to his archive of images.
