New York in Black and White
These view of New York were all shot on film in 1997, but a few date to 1999.
I love the geometry of this city, the spectacular buildings creating sublime skylines as they punch their way through the clouds. I believe that the essential nature of black and white helps to enhance this graphic quality of New York, in Black and White the city really comes alive!
A number of the most dramatic of these cityscapes were taken from the former WTC – the Twin Towers. The view from there was unique, as were the towers themselves, establishing themselves upon a city with a rare blend of boldness and harmony. I was so sad and utterly shocked to see them come down on that fateful day back in 2001.
